Overview
Shared meals will provide life-saving food and assistance to communities affected by ongoing conflict, displacement and hunger.
Lebanon is facing a rapidly escalating humanitarian emergency as intensified conflict has led to casualties and forced displacement of tens of thousands of people. Violence along the Lebanon–Israel border has meant entire communities are being forced from their homes, with many villages ordered to evacuate. The Lebanese Government is preparing evacuation shelters as families leave everything behind in search of safety. The World Food Programme (WFP) is scaling up emergency operations across Lebanon to support families uprooted by conflict. This includes the provision of hot meals, ready‑to‑eat rations and bread packs, as well as the pre-positioning of food stocks in preparation for large‑scale, rapid displacement. WFP’s ability to deliver food quickly and at scale will be critical to supporting people and families as the situation unfolds
