Personally Identifiable Information

Users are not asked to provide any personally identifiable information to access the Service. Personally identifiable information is required when a User intends to make a donation. Users may further share their email address to subscribe to email alerts or newsletters. We will store this information securely and will not share, rent or sell it to anyone other than WFP partner organizations. Your personally identifiable information may be used for purposes that include the provision to you of information on fundraising activities and appeals for donations. See below for the use of information related to donations via the Service.

Please note that WFP is an international organisation so that your personally identifiable information may be processed also outside of the European Economic Area or outside any other area you might be located in when using the Service.

Non-personally Identifiable Information

When using the Service, we collect and process the following non-personally identifiable information: navigation through the Service, the browser used and the time spent, along with other similar information. To collect and process this information, we use the third-party tracking solution Google Analytics. The purpose of this data collection is to understand better the preferences of the Users and improve their User experience. This information is treated confidentially and never connected with any personally identifiable information that Users supply to WPF.

Use of cookies

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the User's device containing information about the device. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while using the Service. By setting a cookie, ShareTheMeal will remember the User the next time he/she visits the Service. The User is always free to decline our cookies if his/her browser permits, although in that case he/she may not be able to use certain features of the Service and may be required to re-enter information more frequently to use certain features of the Service.

Donations via the Service

To donate via ShareTheMeal you can use Creditcard or Paypal via BraintreePayments. To process donations, we cooperate with Maecenata Foundation, Adalbertstrasse 108, 80798 Munich, Germany (IBAN DE 5070 0205 0000 0887 8700; BIC BFSWDE33MUE) that will forward donations to WFP. For transactions in US dollars, donations are processed via World Food Program USA, 1725 I Street NW, Suite 510, Washington, DC 20006 (a 501(c)(3) public charity). We will not collect or share any sensitive financial information with anybody.

Use of Third-Party Plugins

We integrated the following third-party plugin(s) into our Service: Facebook. Please note that those plugin(s) are not under our control and their use is subject to a third-party privacy policy. If you decide to use the third-party plugin(s) listed above, we receive the following personally identifiable information from the respective third-party provider: facebook id, name, email, Facebook id of friends which we use for the following purposes: show sum of donations your friends and you have achieved. Please do not use the Facebook plugin if you do not consent that your donations are shared with your friends on Facebook.

Correction, Updating and Deletion of Personally Identifiable Information

A User may modify and request deletion of personally identifiable information by contacting us.

Opting In and Out

Users may elect to receive communications such as newsletters and other material from us. If they do, they will have the opportunity to stop receiving such communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of each email. Users may turn off push notifications within the Service.

Notification of Changes

Changes to this privacy policy will be posted within the Service so Users are always aware of what information is collected and how it is used.
