Overview

Shared meals are providing food rations, hot meals and ready-to-eat food to earthquake-affected communities in Venezuela.

Two powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela in June, causing widespread destruction and leaving thousands of people missing. The Government of Venezuela has declared a state of emergency and is prioritizing life-saving efforts. The World Food Program (WFP) is on the ground helping families affected by the earthquakes. WFP is currently distributing food rations (including cereals, pulses and vegetable oil), serving hot meals in shelters and providing ready-to-eat rations in hard-to-reach areas. WFP has also created the first feeding center which has provided a hub for communities to get food and other aid supplies.
