Overview
Shared meals will fund nutrition support, school meals and livelihoods programs in Yemen.
Yemen remains one of the world's most urgent humanitarian crises. More than 18 million people are facing food insecurity, while 2.2 million children under five are experiencing malnutrition. Escalating conflict is forcing even more families from their homes and worsening hunger across the country. The United Nations World Food Program (WFP) remains on the ground supporting vulnerable families with both immediate and long-term assistance. Emergency food support is among the most urgent needs, as displaced families struggle to access food, water and other basic services. WFP provides essential food assistance, including cereals, pulses, vegetable oil, salt and fortified dates. School meals programmes help children stay in school, while nutrition support helps treat and prevent malnutrition among young children and pregnant and breastfeeding women through specialised nutritious foods. At the same time, WFP's livelihood and resilience initiatives help communities strengthen food security and better cope with challenges such as climate shocks and limited access to water. Share meals in Yemen and help WFP provide life-saving food and nutrition assistance, while supporting long-term solutions for families affected by conflict and hunger.
